Horizontal jumps event group

The horizontal jumps group is led by Terry Selway. The sessions develop the skills and techniques necessary for successful long and triple jumping including; sprint technique in the run up, foot plant during the phases and at take-off, the launch and flight phase, and landing. The sessions also develop plyometric strength with bounding and jumping exercises.

 

Winter training for the jumps squad focuses on strength, conditioning, and technical development.

 

Note - There is also a pole vault development group coached by Terry Selway which trains at different times to normal club nights. Due to the specialist nature of pole vault training membership of this event group is by invitation of the coach.
